i know. this photo is thrashed. this fine piece of memorabilia from my family archives has been on my fridge for at least 3 years… my mom and dad on their wedding day. the highlight: my dad’s gaze at the neon pink liquid in his glass. wouldn’t mind inserting a thought bubble here and offering up prizes for the best entries. or better yet, making this a contest along the lines of the new yorker cartoon contest, my favorite page of that magazine.

How about — “Well, Darling, your father would have been here, but he’s still looking for his school tie. You know daddy, a Dartmouth man through and through.”

new one: “I’m telling you — after three cape codders, the ghosts that are constantly flying around my head all the time just seem silly!”

Another: “OK — stop me if I’m hell of tripping, but this house is like ALL WOOD, right? I mean, it’s made of wood, but like, the walls are wood too! Basically, the whole thing is made of wood!”
