el mirador
my apartment building, affectionately known as el mirador, was designed by a ballerina in the early thirties who thought oakland might be suitable home to the budding silent film industry. each apartment has its own intricate detail, not to mention some sort of servants’ entrance. i’ve been anxious to do a photo shoot here since the day i moved in. it finally happened. i shot erin emslie’s custom clothing near the lobby. most of the shots look like the above shot, but then a ghost showed up:
