SPLITSCREEN
i love this, the winner of the 2011 nokia shorts competition, shot with a mobile phone.
iPhone snap of my photo in the SPIN of france, vibrations. i really should get myself a copy of this issue.
this is an outtake but i love it … a little insight as to how boring a photo shoot can be. kidding.
come be not-bored with me this saturday. a handful of photos from this shoot will hit the wall of mercy vintage. they’re celebrating their 2 year anniversary, so there will be free food and drink and shock will play some songs. i’m hoping for a dress-up party, maybe even multiple costume changes.
it all happens early and quickly:
sat june 25 from 6 – 8pm
mercy vintage – 4188 piedmont avenue in oakland
facebook event details here. props to shawn burke who did the makeup for this shoot, lina makdisi for producing it and team mercy for styling it.
it is with great pride that i share my music video for “into the night” from antonionian‘s debut album, along with this glowing review from SF Weekly. the entire record from this anticon artist is stellar, and this is my favorite track.
special thanks to the village: larry rinder for house and home, lina makdisi for owning it, brandon kuchta for post-production saving it, james rowland shop for styling/make-up direction, jamie dutcher for bubble mastering, rikki buchanan for endless support, jessica harrison for the fog machine, jason libsch for making everything i ever do possible and infinitely better, and felix libsch for having perfect timing with those light switches.
with this most perfect mini-movie, sam fleishner has inspired me to dive into my ukiah vault. i’ve only revealed one shot so far and it’s in my portfolio … a prize goes to the first to name which one it is.
this is one of my favorites from a recent mercy vintage shoot. the ever-radiant jessica looks both ready for action and ready for bed. are we used to seeing imagery of supine women? perhaps that’s more prevalent than imagery of women doing anything else, but still, as a woman who never seems to slow down, i find it attractive. i’ve been working on a series with this in mind. stay tuned.
